Book Release – Chopping Wood, Pete Seeger and David Bernz @ Mimi’s

Join us Friday, September 27 6:30pm – 8pm at Mimi’s Coffee House for a book reading and sing along of legendary Pete Seeger’s songs.

Long-time folksinger David Bernz and his son Jacob Bernz, one of the east coast’s most prolific young songwriters, will offer short readings from David’s new book “Pete Seeger – Chopping Wood, a collection of Pete’s spoken word with photos and commentary from other friends and musicians and they will also perform songs by Pete Seeger and other original material in the trajectory. Copies of the book will be available for sale.

David and Jacob Bernz are a father-son team of folksingers and songwriters hailing from Beacon New York. David’s performance ensembles have included “Dave, Perry, Rande, “Stone Soup” and “Work o’ the Weavers” and he has released CDs with each. David has also received two Grammy Awards producing CDs for Pete Seeger including Best Folk Album 2008 and best children’s album 2010. Jacob is a prolific young songwriter with five CDs of original material. Combining many influences into a genre all his own, Jacob’s delivery is uniquely poetic and personal, Together they weave a tapestry of songs old and new.
